Greetings skiers;

Following is a preliminary grooming report that will actually be in effect tomorrow evening.  We are holding off grooming until Friday evening so that we have good conditions for the weekend.  However, I wanted to get this grooming report out now so that it is clear to interested parties that we are groomed and ready to go.  I have seen a great deal of interest in the fact that only Northeastern Minnesota has good ski and snowmobile conditions.  I expect to see quite a few skiers here this weekend (and hikers too).

In addition, the Pisten Bully is again up and running with thanks to Greg Olsen for the quick turnaround and excellent welding job.  As usual Charlie Curry made himself available for the job of pulling the broken stinger off of the PB and working to reassemble the unit.  Final tests today show that hydraulics are working and Charlie will be out tomorrow evening for the groom.

Here is the report:

Current Base:  15 inches

New Snow:  None

Spring skiing at Pincushion is very good right now.  Trail conditions can be variable based on exposure to the sun and temperature, but all trails are classic tracked and the skate deck has been tilled, compacted and combed.  This weekend will be some of the best spring skiing in a while with temperatures staying on the cooler side.

See you on the trails,

Jim S
